Another method to tint glass is painting. Glass loses its high transparency when painted. Different patterns and colors can be given. The mistake made here is that as a result of the use of cheap paints on the glass, the paint is scratched at the slightest impact and comes off. In addition, paint exposed to cleaning products can fall off the glass. The point to be considered is the application of zinc and bromide-based paint, called enamel, which binds to the glass perfectly, and then the tempering process is performed and the glass and paint are completely combined. The enamel-tempered paint is never scratched and cannot come out of the glass, you can try it by pressing it with a screwdriver. In addition, it should be noted that the ferrous metals in the glass give a greenish tone to the glass, and cannot exactly show the desired paint code. If it is important to get the exact tone you want, low iron extraclear glass should be used. In addition, there is a light source behind the painted glass and the glass may need to be painted more than once if it is desired to avoid light leakage. Finally, it is possible to use color in laminated glass. If the PVB material used between transparent glasses is colored, colored glasses can be obtained. The same tones can be obtained if the company performing the lamination process here uses standard PVB. This method, which costs more than normal, is recommended to be used in certain projects.
